Positioning Devices in a Room

The visualization function in the nomos system Controller allows you to graphically represent and personalize the structure of a room by uploading an image and positioning devices accordingly. This feature enhances the overview and simplifies device management.

Steps to Use the Visualization and Position Devices:

1. Upload Image:
   • After initiating the visualization function via the "Visu" button for a room, upload an image of the room, such as a floor plan or room layout.
   • Step: Click "Image Upload" to select the image to be used for visualization.
2. Devices on the Image:
   • Once the image is uploaded, the devices assigned to the room appear on it the way the nomos app shows them: as a button with the device's icon and its current state. A light that is on appears green, a blind shows its position in the icon, a thermostat or temperature sensor shows the current temperature. Unreachable devices appear dimmed.
   • Devices that have no position yet are first lined up side by side at the top left.
3. Move Devices:
   • Step: Drag each button to the location in the room where the respective device is physically situated, e.g., the lamp near a table or the socket on the wall.
   • A device's name appears when you point at it with the mouse and while you drag it. With "Show names", the names of all devices are shown permanently.
   • In the app, each device sits exactly where you placed it.
4. Button Size:
   • With S, M, L and XL you switch the size of the buttons as in the app. Choose the size set in the app to see the placement as it appears there.
   • The size and "Show names" only change the preview and are not saved.
5. Hide Devices in the App:
   • When you point at a button with the mouse, a small "X" appears at its corner ("Hide in the app"). A hidden device is not shown in the app; in the editor it stays visible, dimmed.
   • A hidden device carries an eye icon at its corner ("Show in the app"), which shows it again.
6. Save Visualization:
   • After all devices are correctly placed on the image, click "Save" at the top right to secure the positions and the hidden devices. You then return to the room list.
   • This visualization remains saved and can be edited at any time.
7. Remove Image:
   • If you want to change or remove the image, click "Remove Image". A confirmation points out that the image of this view will be deleted and that this cannot be undone. You can then upload a new one.
