Cameras

Cameras can be added and managed to improve monitoring and security in your system.

Cameras Overview

• The overview shows all cameras that have been set up, with their current image. If no camera has been set up yet, No cameras set up yet. appears.
• Use the search field to filter the list. Clicking a camera opens it for editing or deleting.
• To add a camera, click New Camera.

Add Camera

• When you click New Camera, a window opens where you enter the details of the new camera.

1. Select from Library

   • If your camera model is in the library, choose it via Select from Library; the URL is then prepared for you. Otherwise, enter the data manually.

2. Name

   • Give the camera a unique name that describes its location or function, for example "Front Door Camera" or "Office Surveillance".

3. URL Type

   • RTSP (udp) (default), RTSP (tcp) or RTSP (tcp+udp) for an RTSP video stream,
   • Snapshot for a still image that is reloaded regularly,
   • MJPEG for an MJPEG stream,
   • Other HTTP for other HTTP streams.

4. Refresh Rate in Milliseconds (Snapshot only)

   • Sets how often the image is refreshed, between 50 and 60,000 milliseconds.

5. URL

   • The address of the stream or still image (for Snapshot an image in .jpeg or .png format). If a username and password are required, use the format rtsp://username:password@host:port/path/to/file (RTSP) or http://username:password@host:port/path/to/file.

6. Notifications Clip Length, Show Name, Show Clock (RTSP and Other HTTP only)

   • Notifications Clip Length sets how many seconds of video a notification with this camera contains (Off or 2 to 20 seconds).
   • Show Name and Show Clock overlay the camera name or the time at the chosen position in the image.

7. Screensaver

   • Determines whether the camera is shown in the app screensaver.

8. Room

   • Assign the camera to a room and finish with Add.
