Cars with Google built-in
Garage doors and favorite scenes in cars with Google built-in, without a phone.
In cars with Android Automotive OS ("Google built-in"), nomos system runs in the car itself, without a phone. Install the app from the car's Play Store. It shows the same pages as Android Auto: the garage doors and favorite scenes of your controller, one tap each.
Connect a controller
The car signs in to the controller once by itself. For this it must be on your home Wi-Fi, for example in the garage.
Find the controller
Open nomos system in the car and tap Add Controller. The car searches the Wi-Fi for controllers. If it finds none, tap Enter Address and enter the IP address or name of the controller; the keyboard is only available while parked.
Scan the QR code
The car shows a QR code with a Code below it. On your smartphone, open the nomos system app and go to Settings → Approve sign-in. Scan the QR code.
Compare the code
If the Code on the device matches the code in the car, tap Approve. The car is now signed in with your account and shows the controller's page.
Add further controllers in the controller list with Add Controller. As with Android Auto, the last one chosen opens directly; Switch takes you back to the list.
On the road
On the road, every command goes through remote access. Your account needs the remote access permission for this; without it the car reports Only reachable on your home Wi-Fi. and works only at home.
The remote access approval lasts three months. Every time the car is on your home Wi-Fi, it renews it by itself. If the car has not been home for more than three months, sign it in again.
Sign-in
On a controller's page, Sign-in shows the car's sign-in: which account it uses and whether it is reachable on your home Wi-Fi only.
- Sign In Again shows the QR code again; the controller keeps its place in the list.
- Sign Out removes the controller from the car and revokes its remote access approval.
If the sign-in has expired or was revoked, for example because an admin deleted the account, the page shows Sign In Again.
