On the go: remote access
Operating your home when you are not in your home network.
With remote access you can operate your home on the go, too, over the mobile network or someone else's Wi-Fi. You do not need to set anything up, as long as your integrator has enabled remote access for you.
How it works
- The first time, in your home network: when it connects at home, the app fetches a key for remote access. So sign in at least once in your Wi-Fi.
- Automatically on the go: when you are not at home, the app connects via remote access on its own. If you lose the Wi-Fi connection while on the move, the app switches over after a few seconds and shows Switching to Remote Access....
- Short messages show you how you are currently connected: Directly Connected (at home) or Remotely Connected (on the go). If reception is weak, Slow Connection appears.
Checking the status
Under Settings → Infos → Remote Access you can see the status:
| Display | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Connected | You are currently connected via remote access. |
| Ready | Remote access is set up and available when you are on the go. |
| Not allowed | Your integrator has not enabled remote access for your account. |
| Not configured | Remote access is not set up on your Controller. |
If you tap the line, the app renews its key. You then see Security key renewed.
What does not work on the go
For security reasons, some functions are only available in your home network. These include the configuration under Settings → Configuration, signing in with a QR code, and Forgot password?. The app then shows Not allowed during remote access.
INFO
There is no remote access in the browser. On the go, use the nomos system app.
