Version 2.8.4
13. May 2026
Added
- App/UI: New device category "Energy" with types Inverter, Smart Meter, EV Charger and Heat Pump
- App/UI: Energy device cards show key metrics (PV production, grid power, consumption); statistics icons for all energy mappings; feature buttons with separate PV, grid and consumption aggregation
- App/UI: Separate outdoor temperature feature button for weather stations and devices with outside_temperature — no longer mixed into indoor temperature average
- App/UI: Support for new display settings for devices (sorting, status display, value lists)
- Backend: free@home EV Charger (Wallbox) support — charging status, power, energy, boost mode and additional wallbox data points
- Config/UI: Numerous new Modbus-based device profile addons for heat pumps, wallboxes, inverters and smart meters
- Config/UI: New "Display" tab on device page with visibility, naming, sorting, status display and screensaver configuration
- Config/UI: Performance improvement for KNX address lists — automation builder and component assignment are significantly faster for large KNX projects with thousands of group addresses
- Daemon: Calculated Mappings for commandserver — cross-register arithmetic via
{$REF$}syntax in mapping conditions - Daemon: New MODBUS server type with dynamic CRC16 calculation (
XXXXplaceholder) - Daemon: UDP response validation for MODBUS commandserver — automatically filters stray datagrams based on expected response size
- Daemon: New mapping filters
%int16and%int32for signed integer interpretation of hex values (e.g. Modbus registers with negative values like power or current) - Daemon: New parameter filter
%hex8— converts float values to IEEE-754 Big-Endian hex (8 chars) for Modbus write commands (FC0x06/0x10) - Daemon: New mapping filter
%bitcode{N}— encodes a 16-bit register packed with alarm bits into a single integer (0 if no bit set, otherwise highest_set_bit + N), to aggregate multiple alarm registers into one mapping with valueList - Daemon: New mapping filter
%bitcode32{N}— 32-bit variant of%bitcodefor wider bitfield registers - Daemon: New mapping filters
%shr{N}and%shl{N}— right and left shift with unsigned arithmetic - Daemon: New
SHUTDOWNCMDoption for commandserver — sends device commands before disconnect and daemon shutdown - Daemon: New sysvars
[HOUR_HEX],[MIN_HEX],[SEC_HEX],[DAY_HEX],[WDAY_HEX],[MONTH_HEX],[YEAR2K_HEX]— return the respective time/date component as a 2-digit hex byte for direct embedding into binary protocol sequences (e.g. time/date sync on serial heating controllers) - Daemon:
[SYSVAR]tokens now usable inside CommandServer command sequences — re-resolved on every send so current values (time, date, system IP, etc.) can be embedded dynamically into device payloads. Opt-in via newCONFIGoptionRESOLVE_SYSVARS=YESso profiles with a literal '[' in sequences (e.g. JSON/REST) are unaffected
Changes
- Backend: Improved stability and performance of the Matter integration
- Backend: RTSP camera streams now use TCP+UDP instead of UDP only — improves compatibility with cameras behind NAT or on unreliable networks
- Backend: Improved Miele integration — more reliable cloud connection, fewer unnecessary API requests
- Backend: Improved Home Connect integration — more reliable cloud connection, new appliances are detected automatically
- Backend: Improved MQTT configuration — local broker is automatically secured when credentials are set, security check warns about missing password protection
- Daemon: mRemote GUI port (5500) has been closed and is no longer reachable
- Daemon: xPL network listeners (ports 49152+) are now only started when xPL definitions exist — reduces unnecessary open ports on systems without xPL configuration
- System: Security optimizations
Fixed
- Backend: KNX devices were occasionally shown as unreachable even though they were working
- Daemon:
%swap32/%swap16/%floatfilters in commandserver and event mappings did not work correctly in HEX mode (hex-to-decimal conversion before filter chain prevented correct byte processing) - Daemon: KNX connection status is now sent periodically so the backend can recover from lost status events
- Daemon: Hue Bridge was only detected as reachable again 11-14 minutes after a connection issue
- Backend: Home Connect skill logged itself out during temporary cloud outages
- Backend: Miele devices were incorrectly shown as unreachable during high cloud load
